High Quality, Competitive Costs
Benchmarking the Netherlands as Gateway to Europe
Language: English
Many foreign companies base their location choice for European supply chain activities largely on real-estate costs. However, total operating costs should be central to any decision on where to set a new business, being as they are a far better indicator of relative advantage.
This benchmark study conducted by Holland International Distribution Council (HIDC) and Buck Consultants International (BCI) compares different cities as locations for central European distribution centers (EDCs) or regional distribution centers (RDCs) by analyzing various business case scenarios in the high tech, spare parts, lifestyle and med tech industries.
NDL/HIDC would like to thank its partners, the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA), the NV Noord-Brabant Development Agency (BOM), the Limburg Development Company (LIOF), SADC (the area developer for the Schiphol region), and the Port of Rotterdam. Without their financial contributions, this research project would not have been possible.
