OneLogistics launched

The Dutch State Secretary Jack de Vries has recently launched OneLogistics. This new company is looking to offer Control Tower services and support for their aerospace & defense customers with a broad package of logistics related services.

The control tower will manage everything related to logistics. Not only the (global) transport but also packaging, customs handling, export compliance and many additional services. Individual companies often lack the knowledge to manage this complete process. Shipping boxes from A to B is an activity which is mastered by many, however taking care of the total logistics concept is something unrivalled. The strength of OneLogistics is the combination and cooperation between its various partners.

OneLogistics is established by René de Koning of the logistics service provider IJS Global and Johan Faes of the packaging specialist Faes Group. Support was given by Marc De Haas  (N.V. Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij, BOM).  Other partners within OneLogistics are: Technische Universiteit Eindhoven, NLR, Adviesbureau Gordian, Visionwaves, Rhenus Logistics, Greenberg Traurig, The Eagle Compliance Company, Schiphol Area Development Company N.V. (SADC) and REWIN

De Koning: “In the aerospace & defense industry there is a strong focus on performance based logistics-concepts. A manufacturer sells “flying hours” instead of complete airplanes (power by the hour). The (financial) settlement is based on the performance of the airplane.  This business model often worries the manufacturers not only in the field of logistics but also in the fields of customs, tax, export compliance, MRO, humans capital and IT. OneLogistics will provide and manage these services as a one stop shop solution.

Johan Faes: “As OneLogistics we want to service our customers with our broad set of solutions. We will support Dutch-, European-, Asian- and US based companies varying from small to extra large. By applying smart packaging concepts, supply chain efficiency can be achieved. New packaging concepts are an integral part of our business model. By making clear agreements regarding uniformity, certification and traceability, goods can be handled by customs quicker. Modern techniques as RFID and online tracking & tracing using GSM techniques will have a positive effect on the efficiency of the supply chain. A web based packaging application will ensure that the strategic packaging policy is made available to any authorized user in any location around the world.

Marc de Haas: “As BOM we put quite some effort in this initiative. OneLogistics proofs that new business can be generated by a smart combination of logistics related services and maintenance (MRO) companies. We see major chances in relation to the Nederland Regieland initiatives. The cooperation with knowledge institutes such as TU/e, NLR, Dinalog (Dutch Institute for Advanced Logistics) will deliver some remarkable demo projects.

OneLogistics originates from the NIFARP Logistics group (Netherlands Industrial Fighter Aircraft Replacement Platform) part of NIDV.  The members of NIFARP recognize the benefit of such a wide service package. Next to logistics, MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) will play a major role which will be executed by specialized NIFARP members. Together with its partners OneLogistics offers a wide array of services. Based on market- and customer demands the service package will be extended in order to provide the aerospace & defense customers with a tailor-made solution.
