New European distribution center in Limburg for Nutricia Advanced Medical Nutrition

Limburg Development and Investment Company (LIOF) announced the arrival of Nutricia Advanced Medical Nutrition, a subsidiary of the French food company Danone. Nutricia will establish its European logistic activities for advanced medical nutrition in the city of Venlo.

Together with logistic service provider DSV Solutions, it will move to a new 20,000 sqm building on TradePort North, with an expected expansion to 30,000 sqm. Activities at this Regional Distribution Center (RDC) will commence this autumn.

The city of Venlo was selected as base of operations in order to accommodate the company's European growth. Venlo provides a strategic location between production facilities in Zoetermeer and Liverpool on the one hand, and the most important markets Germany, France, Benelux and the United Kingdom on the other hand. Additionally, global export activities are also coordinated from Venlo. The number of employees at the new distribution center will grow to 85 over the next couple of years.

Together with DSV Solutions, Nutricia opted for one new location in Venlo at the logistic business park TradePort North, situated directly at the connection to the currently being constructed Greenportlane, the new link between motorways A73 and A67. The choice for the new location was made after thorough research, during which Nutricia was actively supported by local agencies LIOF, Development Company Greenport Venlo and NV Region Venlo, as well as national partners Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) and Holland International Distribution Council (HIDC). Moreover, the municipality of Venlo and the province of Limburg provide financial support for schooling and training of new employees.
