The industry and port area of Moerdijk is strategically located near the Hollandsch Diep between the world ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp, in the Rhine-Scheldt delta. Goods are delivered here from across the world, and depart from this port to innumerable destinations. The port of Moerdijk is the furthest inland seaport anywhere in the Netherlands. Moerdijk is within 3.5 hours lockfree sailing distance from the North Sea. 

The port of Moerdijk is fully accessible by various transport modalities, including seagoing shipping, inland shipping, road transport and rail. Moerdijk is also connected to the European pipeline network, placing Moerdijk on the map as an international hub. 

The work at the port includes the transshipment of smalls, containers, bulk (including glass, timber, construction materials, sand and gravel), neo bulk products, steel, construction and scrap wood, etc.
